Fergus McReynolds is the Brussels-based consultant for Cogitamus specialising in EU public affairs, industrial, trade and economic policies.
Fergus McReynolds joined Cogitamus in 2026, bringing nearly 20 years of experience working between European institutions and industry.
Having worked in Brussels for over a decade, Fergus has built an extensive network across European institutions, with expertise spanning EU politics and policymaking as well as the evolving UK–EU relationship which is increasingly important for British firms. His earlier career included a decade as Director of EU & International Affairs at Make UK, the manufacturers’ organisation, championing British industry during Brexit and major EU regulatory reform.
Cogitamus is thus able to provide senior-level strategic counsel to businesses and sectors navigating the structural shifts reshaping Europe’s regulatory and trade landscape.
Fergus currently serves on the Board of the British Chamber of Commerce to the European Union, leading its Economic Security strategic pillar. He holds a master’s degree in chemistry from the University of Warwick and is fluent in Dutch.
