Hires at Cogitamus include former Transport Minister Tom Harris

Cogitamus Limited has expanded its public affairs team with a clutch of new hires, including former Transport Minister Tom Harris.

Harris , a Labour MP for 14 years, served as Transport Minister from 2006-08, spanning both Tony Blair and Gordon Brown’s governments, with responsibility for rail, light rail, cycling and the trunk road network. After losing his seat in the 2015 election, he started his own consultancy, which he will continue to operate.

Harris joins Cogitamus this month as Associate Consultant, alongside two other recently announced new hires – former London Assembly Member Murad Qureshi and freelance consultant Neil Lindsay, who previously worked in the House of Commons and Washington DC.

Cogitamus Chief Executive Mark Walker said: “I am delighted to be able to announce the appointment of Tom as a key member of our expanding team. Though we provide public affairs support across a range of sectors, transport and infrastructure remain very much at the core of our expertise, and Tom, along with Murad and Neil, provides considerable additional depth and capacity to Cogitamus and our clients.’
